I'm not sure any of the readers of this blog will understand the reference to the 2004 Will Smith movie, ‘I, Robot’, but in a world of AI, ChatGPT, and virtual reality, hopefully it’s
refreshing to know I am not a robot, it’s really Mark from Wander West, sat behind
his keyboard, really typing this blog!

Now I’m going to assume that you’ve arrived here because you’re considering the
biggest decision of your life…to move to Western Australia, or not. Well, we did.
Packed up our house, sold almost everything, and left the UK on a typically damp
April morning. Me, my wife (Jo), and 3 eager and excited children, clueless about
what the future held for them, but happy to trust Mummy and Daddy on the
adventure of a lifetime.
Maybe you need more detail to feel assured, maybe you need unbridled enthusiasm,
maybe you just need someone to tell you to go for it? I’ll cover off all three without a
shred of hesitation. Do it!
Jo and I share an idyllic image in our head (and our hearts) that when we’re grey and
old, we’ll be sat on a park bench (now a much warmer park bench) looking back and
reflecting on our life and all we achieved. The decision to move to Western Australia
will undoubtedly be the single best decision we will have made for us and our
children. The way of life, the green spaces, the weather, the nature, the food, the
coffee (wow!), the people…the list could truly go on and on.
When you’re passionate about something, it’s important to share that with others. Jo
and I have fallen in love with Perth and Western Australia, we wanted to share our
experiences and encourage others to make the leap. We setup Wander West to
help. We setup Wander West to support.
If you’re one of those people reading this and wants the help, we’re here. This is not
a sales pitch at all. We share our lives in WA across our social media platforms. It’s
really us! and if you send a WhatsApp message to our business number, it’s really
us! We are not robots.
Leave me a comment on what you want to hear more of on the blog and I’ll be sure
to cover off those topics in future posts.
Have a great week everyone! (sending from a 34 degree Autumn day)
